You will find that sometimes all those difficult exercises that we are used to watching on TV of military training are not always the best for our bodies. For our own purposes, working out is mainly for staying fit and trim rather than working out like athletes and soldiers who need extra physical strength and stamina with advanced exercises. But if you are a normal office person who just needs to stay fit and keep your tummy trim and packed, here are some better exercises to guide you instead of those difficult sit-ups that we all dread!

Exercise Ball Crunches

To keep you tummy trim, at one point or another you need to do crunches. Crunches are done in many different ways but the best way to do them is with an exercise ball. Your feet should be flat on the ground while sitting on the ball. Keep your torso and thighs parallel to the floor as you lie backwards. Now cross your arms over your chest, with your tucking into the chest at the same time.   With the abs tightened, raise your upper body to about a 45 degree angle. Breathe out while you contract. Keeping your balance is done by spreading your legs apart and working your side muscles is done by putting the legs closer together. Breathe in when you loosen the contraction.

The Reverse Crunch Exercise

This exercise is done by getting on your back and lengthening the span of your arms away from the ground. Cross your ankles and raise them upwards, until your knees are at a ninety degree angle. Your abdomen will get the best workout when you keep your back to the ground. Your legs will point up towards the ceiling every time you contract as your hips will also rotate slightly. Do this several times for a good result.
 
The Cycle Exercise

Lay down with your lower back kept flat on the ground. A forty-five degree angle is then made as you lift your knees and peddle. Make sure your hands are beside your head while you do this.   While cycling, the right knee should touch the left elbow. The opposite arm and leg should be done next. Watch your breathing, so as not to run out.

Your abs will be in top condition by doing these exercises daily. In case these exercises are very uncomfortable for you, stop and talk to your doctor before continuing. Do not strain yourself by overdoing any exercise. You’ll be able to do more reps as time passes. This is a good way to get six-pack abs through diligent effort.
